After a year of professional racing in which Vision 1 has finished inside the Top 10 of the UCI Team Rankings we want to share some of our highlights with our fans before saying Good Bye, as sadly it has not been possible to continue the Vision 1 team and our riders have now spread out to the other teams to continue their cycling careers.
We are proud that our philosophy and environment for the riders gave them the platform to achieve a total of 12 UCI wins including 4 National Titles and many more podium places along the way. We worked in an efficient way always aiming to provide the best support and advice to our riders and it was great to see each rider making a break through in different areas of performance during the year.
Highlights:
Christel Ferrier – Bruneau winning the French Road Race Title with Aurore Verhoeven

Nicole Cooke – 10th British Road Race Title with Dani King, Katie Curtis and Jackie Garner

Dani King – British Criterium and Madison Champion
Vicki Whitelaw – Tour de L’Aude Winner of Red ‘Sprint’ Jersey and Zottegem Criterium
Emakumeen Bira was a highlight with 2 stage wins and second in the Team Classification, but perhaps the Giro di Trentino Stage Race was the best overall result of the team made up of Nicole, Vicki, Christel, Dani, Debby and Aurore. All the riders worked well together in the closing stages to bring Nicole to sprint to 2nd place on stage 1 and gain some valuable time bonus seconds in preparation for the decisive second stage. Christel was active on both days in the Mountains Competition and made Svetlana Bubnenkova dig deep to win this competition. After the final GPM of Stage 2, Nicole and Vicki were part of a break away group of 5 riders. It was too good an opportunity to miss and both Vision 1 riders committed fully to establishing a lead over the chasing bunch with Vicki doing the majority of the work to help set up Nicole for the final 7km climb to Faedo which would decide the race. With Vicki’s stellar work to create the gap to the bunch, the few seconds time bonus Nicole gained in stage 1 and Christel wearing down the climbing specialist Bubnenkova who was part of this decisive break way, winning the stage and take overall victory was certainly a team result.
